Jazz has captured the hearts and minds of countless people. Its roots can be traced back to the southern region of the United States, namely New Orleans, Louisiana but its true essence lies in the African musical traditions that preceded it. Jazz is a musical form that is difficult to define but easy to recognize by its unique expression. Jazz is characterized by swing and blue notes, complex chords, call and response vocals, polyrhythms and improvisation. Jazz has roots in European harmony and African rhythmic rituals. It draws on a blend of sounds, including Blues, Ragtime, Big Band, Cuban, and Puerto Rican (Cubop).

The 2024 All That Jazz calendar celebrates the captivating artistry of the international artist and sculptor, Darlington Dike Ike (DD Ike). A graduate of one of Nigeria's leading art schools, DD Ike's work has been displayed in galleries all over the world. DD Ike is regarded as a master of mixed media, renowned for his use of various techniques and mediums to create intriguing jazz-themed pieces. With his fluid lines and vibrant colors, DD Ike's artwork offers a visual representation of the musical expression of jazz.
